Quantifying observational evidence for risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular disease following androgen deprivation therapy for prostate cancer: a meta-analysis.
Whether androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) for men with prostate cancer (PCa) increases the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains controversial. Pooled analyses using data from randomised controlled trials suggest no increased risk of fatal CVD following ADT, but no pooled analyses exist for observational studies. ⋯ We investigated all the available data from observational studies on hormonal treatment for prostate cancer and its possible cardiovascular adverse effects. We found consistent evidence that this treatment may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Opportunistic testing versus organized prostate-specific antigen screening: outcome after 18 years in the Göteborg randomized population-based prostate cancer screening trial.
It has been shown that organized screening decreases prostate cancer (PC) mortality, but the effect of opportunistic screening is largely unknown. ⋯ Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) screening within the framework of an organized program seems more effective than unorganized screening.

Long-term cancer control outcomes in clinically high-risk prostate cancer (PCa) patients treated with robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) remain unknown. ⋯ Robot-assisted radical prostatectomy confers lasting long-term oncologic control in most high-risk prostate cancer patients. Our novel risk grouping might serve as a useful tool for setting expectations and counseling patients regarding their cancer control outcomes.
