Identifying risk factors for recurrent patellar dislocation after a primary dislocation may help guide initial treatment. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) measurements relating the alignment of the extensor mechanism to trochlear morphology have been shown to distinguish patients with dislocations from controls, but their usefulness in predicting the risk of a second dislocation is not known. ⋯ Of numerous axial view MRI parameters, only the tibial tubercle to LTR distance demonstrated a statistically significant association with recurrent patellar instability upon multivariable logistic regression analysis during short-term follow-up of a pediatric population presenting with initial lateral patellar dislocation. Interobserver correlation of the tibial tubercle to LTR distance was good (ICC > 0.8) and similar to that of TT-TG.

Capsule management has emerged as an important topic in the field of hip arthroscopy. The 2 most popular techniques are interportal capsulotomy and T-type capsulotomy, but few studies have compared outcomes between these 2 techniques. ⋯ Arthroscopic management of FAIS resulted in significant clinical improvement that was independent of capsulotomy type when the capsulotomy included repair.

Vestibular and ocular symptoms in sport-related concussions are common. The Vestibular/Ocular-Motor Screening (VOMS) tool is a rapid, free, pen-and-paper tool that directly assesses these symptoms and shows consistent utility in concussion identification, prognosis, and management. However, a VOMS validation study in the acute concussion period of a large sample is lacking. ⋯ The results from this study highlight the relevance of the vestibular and oculomotor systems to concussion and the utility of the VOMS tool. Given the 3.8 million sports-related and 45,121 military-related concussions per year, the addition of VOMS to the SCAT3 is poised to identify up to an additional 304,000 athletes and 3610 servicemembers annually who are concussed, thereby improving concussion assessment and diagnostic rates. Health care providers should consider the addition of VOMS to their concussion assessment toolkits, as its use can positively affect assessment and management of concussions, which may ultimately improve outcomes for this complex and common injury.

Matrix-induced autologous chondrocyte implantation (MACI) has demonstrated encouraging midterm clinical outcomes, although published studies presenting longer-term clinical and radiological outcomes, across varied tibiofemoral and patellofemoral graft locations, are scarce. ⋯ MACI provided high levels of satisfaction and adequate graft survivorship as visualized on MRI at 10.5 to 16 years after surgery.
