A comparison of CT arthrography of the wrist to findings during wrist arthroscopy.
To determine the accuracy of computed tomography after wrist arthrogram (CT arthrogram) compared with findings during wrist arthroscopy as interpreted by a musculoskeletal radiologist and a board-certified hand surgeon. ⋯ Computed tomography arthrogram of the wrist is highly accurate at detecting SLIL, LTIL, and central TFCC tears with high sensitivity and specificity. It is not as accurate at identifying peripheral tears.

Resurfacing arthroplasty versus silicone arthroplasty for proximal interphalangeal joint osteoarthritis.
To compare the outcomes of silicone proximal interphalangeal joint (PIPJ) arthroplasties to pyrolytic carbon implants in patients with osteoarthritis. ⋯ Both implants provide excellent pain relief and comparable postoperative ROM. Complications were implant specific. The results of this series show promise for the pyrolytic carbon PIPJ resurfacing arthroplasty but did not clearly demonstrate superiority compared with the silicone implant.

To evaluate the results following locking plate fixation of unstable distal ulna fractures with concomitant distal radius fracture. ⋯ Locked plating of unstable distal ulna fractures, in the setting of an associated distal radius fracture, resulted in union, good to excellent alignment and motion, nearly symmetric grip strength, and minimal transient morbidity.

Volar versus dorsal fixed-angle fixation of dorsally unstable extra-articular distal radius fractures: a biomechanic study.
To evaluate and compare the biomechanic rigidity and strength of 3 fixed-angle plates used to treat extra-articular distal radius fractures that are dorsally unstable. Volar fixed-angle plates were compared with a dorsal fixed-angle nail plate. ⋯ These 3 groups had similar yield loads. However, the LCP was less stiff than the DVR and had more displacement at yield than both the DVR and DNP. The yield load of all 3 implants was much higher than previously described loads for active wrist and finger motion.
