Retrospective morphometric population study. ⋯ Achondroplastic pedicle morphology differs markedly from those of the normal spine: chord lengths are substantially shorter, pedicles are inclined cranially, pedicle starting points diverge progressively in the lumbar spine, and pedicle shape transitions from vertically to horizontally oriented ellipsoids along the lumbar spine. Consideration of this variation could maximize the effectiveness and safety of pedicle instrumentation.

Case Reports
Delayed symptomatic presentation of epidural hematoma after epidural catheter anesthesia: case report.
The authors present a case report of a 70-year-old woman who presented with delayed symptoms of epidural hematoma after epidural catheter anesthesia. ⋯ In the absence of focal neurologic symptoms, conservative therapy and observation are appropriate.

We retrospectively reviewed surgical results of posterolateral transpedicular partial corpectomy without anterior vertebral reconstruction in 23 consecutive patients with symptomatic metastatic spinal cord compression at thoracic spine. ⋯ The results of this study suggest that the stability of implants can be maintained up to 55.8 months without anterior vertebral reconstruction in thoracic spine.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative Study
Qigong and exercise therapy in patients with long-term neck pain: a prospective randomized trial.
A randomized, controlled, multicenter trial: 1-year follow-up. ⋯ These results indicate that treatments including supervised qigong or exercise therapy resulting in reduced pain and disability can be recommended for persons with long-term nonspecific neck pain.

Observational cohort study. ⋯ Stable vertebral fractures in childhood with no neurologic deficits at injury do not render more degenerative changes than can be expected according to age, but they are associated with more Schmorl's nodes at adjacent disc levels.
