Retrospective review of prospective, multicenter and international cohort study. ⋯ Both males and females experienced significantly improved HRQoL scores after treatment, but females demonstrated longer survival and a lower complication rate. This study suggests that gender may be a prognostic factor in survival and clinical outcomes for patients undergoing treatment for spine metastases and should be taken into consideration when counseling patients accordingly.

Thoracolumbar Sagittal Shape Varies with Pelvic Morphology and Aging.
Retrospective study of a multicenter prospective database. ⋯ III.

A retrospective case-control study. ⋯ Patients who failed AIS bracing had significantly lower mean baseline levels of FSTL1 than those who achieved success. FSTL1 may serve as a biomarker that can inform outcomes after bracing.
-
Retrospective review of a prospectively maintained multisurgeon registry. ⋯ Recovery kinetics for ACDF and CDR are comparable. Most patients return to all activities after ACDF and CDR within 16 days. These findings serve as an important compass for preoperative counseling.

This is a case-control study of prospectively collected data. ⋯ The asymmetry of deep apical paraspinal muscle volume in AIS at the scoliosis apex is greater than that observed at equivalent vertebral levels in controls and may play a role in the pathogenesis of AIS.
