Retrospective analysis of longitudinal data. ⋯ This is the first longitudinal study assessing the relationship between PM and endplate degeneration, demonstrating the association between PM atrophy and the progression of endplate degeneration. This insight may aid in identifying patients at risk for degenerative lumbar conditions and guide research into preventive measures.
-
A prospective cohort study. ⋯ This novel investigation documented a three-dimensional characterization of segmental elements of the growing AIS spine and reported these changes across multiple timepoints. Segmental elements are typically deformed from initial presentation, and subsequent changes occur in separate orthogonal planes at unique times.
-
Retrospective cohort study. ⋯ The present study found no association between preoperative ESI within 30 days before surgery and postoperative infection in patients undergoing posterior cervical surgery.
-
A retrospective case series. ⋯ Level 4.
-
Retrospective cohort. ⋯ The use of raw MRIs in an artificial intelligence model improved the accuracy of PJK prediction compared with raw scoliosis radiographs and traditional clinical/radiographic measurements. The improved predictive accuracy using MRI may indicate that PJK is best predicted by soft tissue degeneration and muscle atrophy.
