Magnetic resonance imaging frequently changes classification of acute traumatic thoracolumbar spine injuries.
To evaluate the influence of additional (MRI) compared with computed tomography (CT) alone for the classification of traumatic spinal injuries using the Arbeitsgemeinshaft für Osteosynthesefragen (AO) system and the Thoraco-Lumbar Injury Classification and Severity (TLICS) scale. ⋯ MRI of patients with thoracolumbar spinal trauma considerably improved the detection of fractures and soft tissue injuries compared with CT alone and significantly changed the overall trauma classification.

To assess the diagnostic accuracy and observer performance of 3-Tesla magnetic resonance neurography (MRN) in the evaluation of meralgia paresthetica (MP). ⋯ 3-Tesla MRN provides reliable and accurate diagnostic evaluation of meralgia paresthetica.

To evaluate and compare the fatty degeneration of multifidus muscles by chemical shift magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in patients with chronic low back pain and in asymptomatic volunteers. ⋯ Chemical shift MRI may be a useful method to quantitatively evaluate the fatty degeneration in multifidus muscle in patients with low back pain.
