CT angiography (CTA) using 64-MDCT enables timely evaluation of injuries associated with blunt neck trauma. The purpose of this article is to familiarize the reader with the most frequent CTA signs of blunt vascular injury. ⋯ CTA is a valuable tool to detect blunt vascular injuries, especially using its multiplanar and 3D reconstruction capabilities.

ReviewGround-glass nodules on chest CT as imaging biomarkers in the management of lung adenocarcinoma.
The purpose of this article is to review the clinical significance of ground-glass nodules (GGNs) in the management of lung adenocarcinoma. ⋯ GGNs can serve as imaging biomarkers that represent the bronchioloalveolar carcinoma component in adenocarcinoma on histology and indicate a better prognosis in patients with lung adenocarcinoma. The evolution of GGNs reflects the multistep progression of adenocarcinoma. Despite the high probability of malignancy of GGNs, the possibility of overdiagnosis should be considered in the management of GGNs.

Comparative StudyNewly diagnosed lymphoma: initial results with whole-body T1-weighted, STIR, and diffusion-weighted MRI compared with 18F-FDG PET/CT.
The purpose of this study was to compare whole-body MRI including diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) with (18)F-FDG PET/CT in the staging of newly diagnosed lymphoma. ⋯ Our early results indicate that overall interobserver agreement on whole-body MRI-DWI findings is moderate to good. Overall agreement between whole-body MRI-DWI and FDG PET/CT is moderate. In the care of patients with newly diagnosed lymphoma, staging with whole-body MRI-DWI does not result in underestimation of stage relative to the results with FDG PET/CT. In a minority of patients, reliance on whole-body MRI-DWI leads to clinically important overstaging relative to the results with FDG PET/CT. FDG PET/CT remains the reference standard for lymphoma staging until larger-scale studies show that use of whole-body MRI-DWI results in correct staging in this minority of cases.

The ever-increasing use of higher field strength (3 T) scanners and novel pulse sequences with improved spatial resolution and signal-to-noise ratio have rendered MR neurography (MRN) a valuable technique in the assessment of peripheral neuropathies. The aim of this study is to illustrate the imaging findings of high-resolution MRN in patients who suffer from tibial nerve entrapment due to a soleal fibromuscular sling and to correlate the imaging findings with intraoperative and clinical examination results. ⋯ This article depicts the surgically confirmed imaging findings of high-resolution MRN in tibial nerve entrapment by the soleal sling.

Impact of Adaptive Statistical Iterative Reconstruction (ASIR) on radiation dose and image quality in aortic dissection studies: a qualitative and quantitative analysis.
The purpose of the study was to quantify the radiation dose reduction achieved when imaging the aorta using Adaptive Statistical Iterative Reconstruction (ASIR) and to determine if this has an effect on image quality. ⋯ A 29% decrease in CTDI(vol) and a 20% decrease in DLP were obtained in scans with ASIR compared with scans without ASIR, without a quantitative loss of image quality.
