VI-RADS: Multiinstitutional Multireader Diagnostic Accuracy and Interobserver Agreement Study.
BACKGROUND. The Vesical Imaging Reporting and Data System (VI-RADS), based on multiparametric MRI (mpMRI), was developed to provide accurate information for the diagnosis of muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC). OBJECTIVE. ⋯ We observed moderate to substantial interobserver agreement and a pooled AUC of 0.87 among radiologists of different levels of expertise using VI-RADS. CLINICAL IMPACT. VI-RADS could help determine the depth and range of excision in TURBT, decreasing the risk of complications and enhancing the accuracy of pathologic diagnosis.

Ultrasound Findings and Laboratory Predictors of Early Mortality in Patients With Severe Yellow Fever.
OBJECTIVE. Yellow fever is a hemorrhagic disease caused by an arbovirus endemic in South America; outbreaks have occurred in recent years. The purpose of this study was to describe abdominal ultrasound findings in patients with severe yellow fever and correlate them with clinical and laboratory data. ⋯ Increased renal echogenicity was associated with 30-day mortality (84.6% versus 55.0%; p = .046) and was an independent predictor of this outcome after multivariate analysis (odds ratio, 10.89; p = .048). CONCLUSION. Reproducible abdominal ultrasound findings in patients with severe yellow fever may be associated with severity of disease and prognosis among patients treated in the ICU.

CT attenuation values do not reliably distinguish benign sclerotic lesions from osteoblastic metastases in patients undergoing bone biopsy.
BACKGROUND. CT attenuation thresholds that accurately distinguish enostoses from untreated osteoblastic metastases have been published. In the Mayo Clinic practices, these thresholds have been applied more broadly to distinguish benign sclerotic bone lesions other than enostoses from osteoblastic metastases. ⋯ CLINICAL IMPACT. Published CT attenuation thresholds intended for distinguishing enostoses from osteoblastic metastases should not be used more broadly. More accurate alternative thresholds could not be derived.

Multisystem Assessment of the Imaging Manifestations of Coagulopathy in Hospitalized Patients With Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).
BACKGROUND. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is known to be associated with a distinct form of coagulopathy. OBJECTIVE. ⋯ Clinical variables poorly predict which patients have positive imaging results, indicating a complementary role of imaging in detecting COVID-19-associated coagulopathy. CLINICAL IMPACT. In patients with COVID-19 with suspected systemic coagulopathy, pulmonary CTA, extremity Doppler ultrasound, contrast-enhanced abdominal CT, and contrast-enhanced brain MRI and MRA may all be appropriate in the absence of imaging contraindications.

Whole-Body Low-Dose CT in Multiple Myeloma: Diagnostic Value of Appendicular Medullary Patterns of Attenuation.
OBJECTIVE. The purpose of this article is to analyze whole-body low-dose CT-detected appendicular medullary patterns of attenuation in patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma and to determine the diagnostic performance of whole-body low-dose CT in detecting diffuse marrow infiltration. MATERIALS AND METHODS. ⋯ A total of 24 of 30 (80.0%) patients with a diffuse MRI pattern showed a diffuse CT-based appendicular medullary cavity pattern on whole-body low-dose CT, and all patients with a diffuse CT-based appendicular medullary cavity pattern also showed a diffuse pattern on MRI. CONCLUSION. According to analysis of peripheral medullary patterns of attenuation, whole-body low-dose CT can identify patients with multiple myeloma with diffuse marrow involvement.
