Comparative StudyAccuracy of Whole-Body DWI for Metastases Screening in a Diverse Group of Malignancies: Comparison With Conventional Cross-Sectional Imaging and Nuclear Scintigraphy.
The purpose of this study is to assess the role of whole-body (WB) DWI as a screening modality for the detection of metastases and to compare it to conventional cross-sectional imaging modalities or nuclear scintigraphy in a population with various histopathologic malignancies. ⋯ WB DWI can be used for screening hepatic and skeletal metastases, but its reliability as the sole imaging sequence for the detection of lymph nodal and pulmonary metastases is poor and, at present, it cannot replace conventional imaging modalities.

Standardized Approach for ROI-Based Measurements of Proton Density Fat Fraction and R2* in the Liver.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the reproducibility (interreviewer agreement) and repeatability (intrareviewer agreement) of ROI sampling strategies to measure chemical shift-encoded (CSE) MRI-based liver proton density fat fraction (PDFF) and R2* (1 / T2*). A secondary purpose was to standardize ROI-based liver PDFF and R2* measurements by providing a compromise between measurement reproducibility and repeatability and time burden for image analysts. ⋯ For improved reproducibility and repeatability of liver PDFF and R2* measurements, clinicians and researchers should sample as much area of the liver as possible using multiple large ROIs.

Sports-Related Groin Pain Secondary to Symphysis Pubis Disorders: Correlation Between MRI Findings and Outcome After Fluoroscopy-Guided Injection of Steroid and Local Anesthetic.
The objective of our study was to correlate patterns of injury on preprocedural MRI with outcome after targeted fluoroscopy-guided steroid and local anesthetic injection of the symphysis pubis and its muscular attachments in a group of athletes with chronic groin pain. ⋯ Fluoroscopy-guided corticosteroid symphyseal injection is a safe and effective treatment of sports-related groin pain. It is more frequently associated with a complete recovery in patients who display an isolated superior cleft sign on MRI. MRI not only is useful in characterizing groin injuries but also may be helpful in predicting response to therapeutic injection.

Long-Term Surveillance and Timeline of Progression of Presumed Low-Risk Intraductal Papillary Mucinous Neoplasms.
The purpose of this study was to assess risk of progression and rate of growth of presumed low-risk branch duct intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms surveyed for more than 4 years. ⋯ Among presumed low-risk branch duct intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms, most increased in size, approximately 30% after 5 years. Cysts with baseline size larger than 20 mm continued to grow beyond 5 years at a faster rate.

Predicting Future Hip Fractures on Routine Abdominal CT Using Opportunistic Osteoporosis Screening Measures: A Matched Case-Control Study.
Hip fracture is a major consequence of low bone mineral density, which is treatable but underdiagnosed. The purpose of this case-control study is to determine whether lumbar vertebral trabecular attenuation, vertebral compression fractures, and femoral neck T scores readily derived from abdominopelvic CT scans obtained for various indications are associated with future hip fragility fracture. ⋯ L1 trabecular attenuation, CT-derived femoral neck T scores, and the presence of at least one vertebral compression fracture on CT are all associated with future hip fragility fracture in adults undergoing routine abdominopelvic CT for a variety of conditions.
