Comparative StudyFree-Breathing Radial 3D Fat-Suppressed T1-Weighted Gradient-Echo Sequence for Contrast-Enhanced Pediatric Spinal Imaging: Comparison With T1-Weighted Turbo Spin-Echo Sequence.
The purpose of this study was to compare free-breathing radially sampled 3D T1-weighted gradient-echo acquisitions (radial volumetric interpolated breath-hold examination [VIBE]) with a T1-weighted turbo spin-echo (TSE) sequence for contrast-enhanced spinal imaging of children with CNS tumors. ⋯ For pediatric spinal imaging, radial VIBE images had better image quality and lesion conspicuity and fewer CSF and respiratory motion artifacts than did T1-weighted TSE images in a similar acquisition time.

Can Radiologic Staging With Multiparametric MRI Enhance the Accuracy of the Partin Tables in Predicting Organ-Confined Prostate Cancer?
The purpose of this study is to investigate the accuracy of multiparametric MRI with endorectal coil and Partin tables in predicting organ-confined (OC) prostate cancer in a contemporary cohort undergoing radical prostatectomy (RP) and to assess the possible added value of radiologic staging based on multiparametric MRI to the predictive accuracy of Partin tables. ⋯ The superior predictive accuracy of multiparametric MRI compared with Partin tables to predict OC disease validates the results of smaller previously published studies. Although there is no added benefit of substituting multiparametric MRI stage for clinical stage when using Partin tables, multiparametric MRI staging information is valuable as a stand-alone test.

Parsing the Utility of CT and MRI in the Subaxial Cervical Spine Injury Classification (SLIC) System: Is CT SLIC Enough?
The aim of our blinded retrospective study was to evaluate the diagnostic performance of the Subaxial Cervical Spine Injury Classification (SLIC) System in predicting the need for surgical intervention after subaxial cervical spine injury; SLIC scores were determined using CT alone or both CT and MRI. ⋯ SLIC scoring based on CT alone performs similarly to SLIC scoring based on CT and MRI but with improved interobserver agreement. Although MRI is useful for surgical planning, these results indicate that MRI may have limited added value in the initial triage of patients with subaxial cervical spine injury for conservative versus surgical management.

Patellofemoral Instability in Children: Correlation Between Risk Factors, Injury Patterns, and Severity of Cartilage Damage.
The purpose of this study was to compare MRI findings between groups with and without patellofemoral instability and to correlate the MRI findings with the severity of patellar cartilage damage. ⋯ Patients with patellofemoral instability have significantly different trochlear structure and alignment than those who do not, and these differences are known risk factors for patellofemoral instability. However, the only risk factors or injury patterns that directly correlated with the severity of patellar cartilage damage were patella alta, medial stabilizer injury, and bone marrow edema.
