The objective of this study was to answer the typical questions from patients regarding the likely neurologic outcome and likelihood of recurrence when discussing peroneal intraneural ganglion cysts preoperatively. ⋯ The data support excellent postoperative motor outcomes, despite frequent dense weakness of peroneal-innervated musculature preoperatively. The surgical approach appears to eliminate risk of intraneural recurrence and minimizes risk of extraneural recurrence. Muscle Nerve 57: 989-993, 2018.

Rate of decline of the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Functional Rating Scale-Revised (ALSFRS-R) score is a common outcome measure and a powerful predictor of mortality in ALS. ⋯ Variable curvilinearity of ALSFRS-R trajectories confounds interpretation in clinical studies that assume linear decline. Subscore trajectories recapitulate phenotypic diversity and topographical progression of ALS. ALSFRS-R is better used as a multidimensional measure. Muscle Nerve 57: 937-945, 2018.
