Review Meta AnalysisThe different role of PD-L1 in head and neck squamous cell carcinomas: A meta-analysis.
Programmed cell death-ligands 1 (PD-L1) is a promising immune target for tumor immunotherapy. We conducted this meta-analysis to investigate association between PD-L1 expression and clinicopathological characteristics of head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC). Electronic databases were searched for eligible studies. ⋯ However, the higher PD-L1 expression in tumor cells indicated a better DFS of OPSCC (HR = 0.34, 95 %CI: 0.18-0.67). This meta-analysis demonstrated that PD-L1 overexpression in HNSCC associated with female patients. However, no significant difference was observed in OS or DFS, except the DFS in OPSCC.

Clinical observation of crizotinib in the treatment of ALK-positive advanced non-small cell lung cancer.
ALK is a prognostic and predictive tumor marker in non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC), and is more often found in lung adenocarcinomas. ⋯ The efficacy of crizotinib in patients with advanced NSCLC is related to the number of metastatic organs, age and timing of treatment. The use of crizotinib is prone to intracranial progression, and progression of simple brain metastases is not an indication that crizotinib is discontinued. Patients will continue to benefit from combination of local radiotherapy.

Expression and prognostic value of FOXP1 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
Forkhead box protein P1 (FOXP1) has been suggested as a prognostic marker in several malignant tumors. However, the significance of FOXP1 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is still unclear. The purpose of this study was to investigate the expression pattern of FOXP1 in normal esophageal tissue and ESCC and to analyze the clinicopathological significance and prognostic value of FOXP1 in ESCC. ⋯ Our results suggest that FOXP1 plays an essential role in ESCC progression and prognosis and may be a useful biomarker for predicting survival.

Knockdown of LncRNA SNHG7 inhibited epithelial-mesenchymal transition in prostate cancer though miR-324-3p/WNT2B axis in vitro.
It is identified that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play important roles in cancer progression and metastasis. LncRNA SNHG7 was reported to play an oncogenic role in the progression of cancers including prostate cancer. However, its potential regulatory mechanism of endothelial-mesenchymal transition in PCa remains unclear. ⋯ Moreover, We confirmed that WNT2B, an important protein in the Wnt signal pathway, promotes the malignant phenotype of PCa cells and mediated the biological effects exerted by lncRNA SNHG7. Overall, our study suggested that lncRNA SNHG7 could promote PCa EMT via miR-324-3p and WNT2B in vitro. The lncRNA SNHG7/miR-324-3p /WNT2B axis regulatory network might provide a potential new therapeutic strategy for PCa treatment.

Meta AnalysisAssociation of CAV1 polymorphisms with the risks of breast cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Caveolin-1 (CAV1) polymorphisms have been shown to correlated with breast cancer risk in previous studies. However, the role of CAV1 polymorphisms still remained indecisive, and dual functions of CAV1 was demonstrated in breast cancer development. Consequently, a meta-analysis to evaluate and summarize the association of the CAV1 polymorphisms with breast cancer susceptibility. ⋯ CAV1 rs3807987 and rs7804372 polymorphisms are associated with the change of breast cancer risk. More well-designed and large studies in various populations are needed to further elaborate these associations.
