Review Meta Analysis
Mediterranean Diet and its Effect on Endothelial Function: A Meta-analysis and Systematic Review.
Endothelial dysfunction serves as an early marker for the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD); therefore, it is a site of therapeutic interventions to reduce the risk of CVD. ⋯ These findings support that MedDiet can reduce the risk of CVD by improving endothelial function.

Review Meta Analysis
Comparative efficacy of exercise training processes in improving nonalcoholic fatty liver disease: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy of exercise training in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). ⋯ Exercise training can improve NAFLD. The improvement was more obvious when exercise was performed for ≥ 20 weeks. Probiotics may enhance the efficiency of exercise training.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Different application procedures of Nd:YAG laser as an adjunct to scaling and root planning in smokers with stage III grade C periodontitis: a single-blind, randomized controlled trial.
The aim of the present study was to evaluate whether different Nd:YAG laser applications as an adjunct to scaling and root planning (SRP) improve the healing response to periodontal therapy in smokers with periodontitis. ⋯ The findings of this clinical trial suggest that Nd:YAG laser applications may be beneficial on the healing response of smokers to non-surgical therapy compared to SRP alone.

Review Case Reports
Iatrogenic adrenaline induced mid-ventricular Takotsubo cardiomyopathy: a case-based review.
Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TCM) is regarded as an acute and often reversible cardiac syndrome characterised by apical ballooning of the left ventricle that occurs in the absence of coronary artery obstruction and myocarditis. The underlying pathophysiology remains largely unknown, but the most widely accepted theory is catecholamine toxicity. ⋯ This report describes the first documented case of a patient who developed MVTCM after receiving a dose of intravenous adrenaline. This case provides further evidence to support the notion that catecholamine toxicity is implicated in the pathogenesis of TCM.
