Erectile dysfunction and metabolic syndrome components in obese men with psoriasis: response to a 12-week randomized controlled lifestyle modification program (exercise with diet restriction).
Erectile dysfunction (ED) and metabolic syndrome (MeTS) are highly prevalent in chronic plaque psoriasis (CPP). ⋯ A 12-week lifestyle modification program as a tool for weight loss in obese men with CPP is a good therapeutic method to improve psoriasis severity and psoriasis-associated ED and MeTS.

It is known that vertical transmission of various infections poses a potential risk to the fetus, especially in early pregnancy. Potential effects of SARS-CoV-2 infection on early pregnancy and placental formation and functions still remain unknown. ⋯ We did not find any evidence for unfavorable prenatal biochemical, ultrasound markers of fetal aneuploidy screening tests, and pregnancy loss rates in our study group.

Cardiorespiratory responses: Pilates compared to different walking speeds in healthy adults.
The impact of a single-session Pilates exercise on cardiorespiratory fitness and metabolic parameters is still uncertain. ⋯ The cardiopulmonary responses to a single Pilates session are similar to walking at a speed of 3.2 kph but lower than walking at 4.8 kph. These results indicate that while Pilates may not generate sufficient cardiopulmonary changes to enhance cardiorespiratory fitness as a moderate-intensity exercise in healthy young adults, it may still offer other benefits such as improvements in flexibility, core strength, and posture.

Abnormal lipid profile as one of reversible cardiovascular disease risk factors might be affected by poor sleep quality. ⋯ Our study illustrates that poor sleep quality is a risk factor for poorer lipid profile. Therefore, early behavioral or pharmacological interventions that improve sleep quality are necessary to modify lipid profile in elderly population.

Subjective tinnitus is an unpleasant perception of sound without any external acoustic stimulus. It can be manifested in the form of various phantom sounds, which most often resemble ringing, whistling, squeaking, noise, chirping, or buzzing. The sounds are heard solely by the sufferer and can occur in the middle of the head, but also in the ears-on one or both sides. ⋯ The study concluded that tinnitus may be a symptom indicating the presence of high-frequency hearing loss as hearing loss occurs in an increasingly wider frequency range with age, so HFA should be a routine audiological test in patients with tinnitus.
