Multicenter StudyPredictors of adverse events following chiropractic care for patients with neck pain.
This study examines which variables may predict adverse events in subjects undergoing chiropractic treatment for neck pain. ⋯ Of the 60 independent variables examined, only 4 were found to be predictive of adverse events after chiropractic treatment for neck pain, one of which was found to be protective. The chiropractic practitioner can identify 3 of these variables before initiating treatment.

ReviewChiropractic treatment of upper extremity conditions: a systematic review.
This study investigates the scope, type, and quality of chiropractic research conducted on the management of upper limb peripheral conditions. ⋯ There is a small amount of chiropractic research into upper limb conditions that is comprised mostly of case studies (level 4 evidence) and a small number of higher-level publications (level 1-3 evidence). Most treatments are multimodal in nature, which address both spinal and peripheral structures, with joint and soft tissue methods. There is a need for future research to be directed at higher-level evidence, in particular, randomized controlled trials for the chiropractic treatment of upper limb conditions.

Case ReportsOsteosarcoma of the hand: a rare case for radiographic appearance, location, and age.
This case describes the history, process of correct diagnosis, and treatment of a patient with pain in her left fourth finger, later found to be an osteosarcoma. ⋯ This case presents a rare bone tumor of the hand and highlights the importance of clinical decision-making to lead to appropriate patient care.

This study investigates if patients with intermittent low back pain (LBP) have a permanently increased pain perception between attacks. ⋯ Patients with intermittent LBP do not seem to have an altered pain perception between attacks, with the possible exception of facilitation on a local segmental spinal cord level.
