Comparative StudyLong-term outcomes of sirolimus-eluting stents vs. paclitaxel-eluting stents in unprotected left main coronary artery bifurcation lesions.
The treatment of unprotected left main coronary artery (uLMCA) bifurcation lesions remains challenging. ⋯ According to the results of the present study, SES may be associated with more favorable outcomes than PES for stenting of uLMCA bifurcation, which should be further studied by larger trials.

Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a debilitating pain syndrome characterized clinically by severe pain along with signs and symptoms of autonomic dysfunction. Presyncope and syncope are common in these patients. The purpose of this study was to investigate the cause of these symptoms in these patients. ⋯ Syncope is common in patients with CRPS, especially with lower limb involvement. Autonomic dysregulation of the lower extremities leads to impaired sympathetic vasoconstriction and venous pooling, which can predispose these patients to syncope. Physician awareness of this syndrome will lead to improved recognition and treatment of their symptoms of presyncope or syncope.

Comparative StudyType A aortic intramural hematoma: clinical features and outcomes in Chinese patients.
The purpose of this study was to describe the clinical characteristics and clinical outcomes for Chinese patients with type A intramural hematoma (IMH). ⋯ Acute type A IMH in Chinese patients showed a high mortality rate with medical treatment. It has a highly unpredictable course with no reliable clinical and anatomical predictors. Surgical therapy should be the treatment of choice for Chinese patients with acute IMH, especially those who are younger and have less comorbidities.

EditorialIs hyperoxic ventilation important to treat acute coronary syndromes such as myocardial infarction?
After reviewing the literature, I was unable to find hard evidence that the use of supplemental oxygen (hyperbaric or normobaric) in an uncomplicated acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is beneficial, and there is some evidence that it may be harmful.

Randomized Controlled TrialThe effects of statin monotherapy and low-dose statin/ezetimibe on lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A₂.
Many of the pleiotropic effects of statins remain to be elucidated. ⋯ Atorvastatin monotherapy was stronger at reducing plasma Lp-PLA₂ than the low-dose atorvastatin/ezetimibe combination after equivalent LDL-C lowering. This result may provide evidence of potential statin effects beyond the lowering of LDL-C.
