Comparative StudyMethylene Blue versus Coil-Based Computed Tomography-Guided Localization of Lung Nodules.
Preoperative computed tomography (CT)-guided localization has been shown to significantly improve lung nodule video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS)-based wedge resection technical success rates. However, at present, there was insufficient research regarding the optimal approaches to localization of these nodules prior to resection. We aimed to compare the relative clinical efficacy of preoperative CT-guided methylene blue and coil-based lung nodule localization. ⋯ Both methylene blue and coil localization can be safely and effectively implemented for conducting the diagnostic wedge resection of lung nodules. The coil-based approach is compatible with a longer period of time between localization and VATS procedures.

Comparative StudyApplication of Modified Tailed Microcoil in Preoperative Localization of Small Pulmonary Nodules: A Retrospective Study.
The localization of small pulmonary nodules (SPNs) during video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) is challenging thoracic surgeon, especially in patients with severe pleural adhesion or visceral pleura pigmentation due to low success rate and future conversion to thoracotomy. This study aims to compare the efficacy and safety between modified microcoil and methylene blue in preoperative localization of small nodules, particularly patients with severe pleural adhesion or visceral pleura pigmentation. ⋯ Compared with methylene blue, modified microcoil achieved a shorter operation time of removal of nodule in VATS, especially for patients with pleural adhesion and the pigmentation of the lung surface as well as the male patients and the patients older than 60 years.

Preoperative Computed Tomography-Guided Localization for Pulmonary Nodules with Glue and Dye.
This study was aimed to describe a new localization technique developed using medical glue and methylene blue dye, and characterized the localization results and postoperative outcome to evaluate its safety and usefulness. ⋯ CT-guided medical glue and methylene blue dye localization prior to video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) lung resection was a novel, safe, and technically feasible method, with a high-technical success rate and a low-complication rate. It allowed surgeons to easily locate and detect the nodules and estimate the surgical margin.

Music Therapy for Early Postoperative Pain, Anxiety, and Sleep in Patients after Mitral Valve Replacement.
To investigate the effect of music therapy on early postoperative pain, anxiety, and sleep quality in patients after mechanical mitral valve replacement (MVR). ⋯ Music therapy can be an effective intervention to reduce early postoperative pain, relieve early postoperative anxiety, prolong sleep time, and improve the sleep quality of patients after mechanical MVR.
