Associations Among Quadriceps Strength and Rate of Torque Development 6 Weeks Post Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction and Future Hop and Vertical Jump Performance: A Prospective Cohort Study.
Study Design Prospective cohort. Background Quadriceps strength is associated with hop distance and jump height in persons who have undergone anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. However, it is unknown whether the ability to rapidly generate quadriceps torque in the early phase of recovery is associated with future hopping and jumping performance in this population. ⋯ These findings may contribute to improved rehabilitation of patients who are at risk for poor jumping/hopping performance and abnormal knee loading. Case ReportsLumbar Spine Osteomyelitis in an Adolescent Girl With Nonspecific Low Back Pain.
A 13-year-old adolescent girl presented to the emergency department with low back pain of acute onset after bending forward. Lumbar spine radiographs were taken and found to be unremarkable, and the patient was referred to physical therapy. ⋯ Further testing and bone biopsy confirmed osteomyelitis. Case ReportsPediatric Lateral Patellar Retinacular Sleeve Avulsion.
A 10-year-old girl presented to the physical therapist with acute left knee pain, after sprinting that morning. She reported a pop and lateral knee pain, which caused her to stop her run. ⋯ Magnetic resonance imaging was performed the following day, given the poor accuracy of radiographs in patellar avulsions, which confirmed a lateral patellar retinacular sleeve avulsion. J Orthop Sports Phys Ther 2017;47(10):815. doi:10.2519/jospt.2017.6616.

EditorialMusculoskeletal Pain in Children and Adolescents: A Way Forward.
There are substantial gaps in our understanding of musculoskeletal pain in children and adolescents. While there are challenges to performing research in this space, the prevalence, burden, and lack of available evidence to inform clinical practice mean that overcoming these challenges is important. The editors see the collection of work in this special issue as a step in the right direction. J Orthop Sports Phys Ther 2017;47(10):702-704. doi:10.2519/jospt.2017.0109.

Case ReportsCervical Myelopathy Presenting as Bilateral Upper Extremity Weakness.
A 57-year-old man with insidious onset of progressive bilateral upper extremity weakness was referred to physical therapy by his primary care physician. Following examination, the physical therapist referred the patient back to his primary care physician with a request for cervical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and neurology consultation. Cervical radiographs demonstrated multilevel degenerative changes, while cervical spine MRI revealed compressive myelopathy, significant spinal canal stenosis, and severe spondylosis J Orthop Sports Phys Ther 2017;47(9):691. doi:10.2519/jospt.2017.7287.
