Case ReportsUse of thoracic spine thrust manipulation for neck pain and headache in a patient following multiple-level anterior cervical discectomy and fusion: a case report.
Case report. ⋯ This case report describes the immediate and short-term clinical outcomes for a patient presenting with symptoms of neck pain and headache following anterior cervical discectomy and fusion surgical intervention. Clinical rationale and patient preference aided the decision to incorporate thoracic spine thrust manipulation as a treatment for this patient. Level of Evidence Therapy, level 4.

The Current Perception Threshold Test Differentiates Categories of Mechanical Neck Disorder.
Study Design Cross-sectional discriminative analysis. Objective To determine whether current perception threshold (CPT) can differentiate between categories of patients with mechanical neck disorders (MNDs). Background Neck pain is the third most common musculoskeletal disorder, affecting a third of all adults each year. ⋯ The area under the ROC curve (AUC) was .84 (95% CI =.72 to .96, P < .001). Conclusions CPT testing has moderate discriminatory accuracy, specificity, and sensitivity for classification of MND categories into neck pain with or without neurological signs. Comparative StudyBaseline evaluation in youth ice hockey players: comparing methods for documenting prior concussions and attention or learning disorders.
Cross-sectional. ⋯ In 1 of 5 players, reported concussion history differed between the PSQ and ImPACT, and there was substantial disagreement between instruments for those reporting learning disorders. The method of obtaining medical history may, therefore, affect baseline and postconcussion evaluations.

Randomized Controlled TrialEffects of functional stabilization training on pain, function, and lower extremity biomechanics in women with patellofemoral pain: a randomized clinical trial.
Randomized clinical trial. ⋯ An intervention program consisting of hip muscle strengthening and lower-limb and trunk movement control exercises was more beneficial in improving pain, physical function, kinematics, and muscle strength compared to a program of quadriceps-strengthening exercises alone.

Randomized Controlled TrialShort-term changes in neck pain, widespread pressure pain sensitivity, and cervical range of motion after the application of trigger point dry needling in patients with acute mechanical neck pain: a randomized clinical trial.
Randomized clinical trial. ⋯ The results of the current randomized clinical trial suggest that a single session of TrPDN may decrease neck pain intensity and widespread pressure pain sensitivity, and also increase active cervical range of motion, in patients with acute mechanical neck pain. Changes in pain, pressure pain threshold, and cervical range of motion surpassed their respective minimal detectable change values, supporting clinically relevant treatment effects. Level of Evidence Therapy, level 1b-.
