Predictors for Celiac Disease in Adult Cases of Duodenal Intraepithelial Lymphocytosis.
Duodenal intraepithelial lymphocytosis (D-IEL) is an early marker for celiac disease (CD). However, the majority of cases are due to non-CD-related conditions. ⋯ In the setting of D-IEL, only the presence of a positive EMA or TTG>20×ULN at the outset can be used to make an immediate diagnosis of CD. Gastrointestinal symptoms, family history, anemia, or other celiac serology results do not reliably distinguish CD from non-CD without further investigations.

Review Meta Analysis Comparative StudyTransjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt for Acute Variceal Bleeding: A Meta-analysis.
Acute variceal bleeding is the most common lethal complication of liver cirrhosis. A meta-analysis was conducted to compare the outcomes of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) to those of medical/endoscopic therapy for acute variceal bleeding in cirrhotic patients. ⋯ With the exception of the benefit of prevention from treatment failure, TIPS with covered stents might improve the overall survival of high-risk patients with acute variceal bleeding.
