Long-term follow-up after endovascular treatment of acute aortic emergencies.
To investigate the long-term outcome and efficacy of emergency treatment of acute aortic diseases with endovascular stent-grafts. ⋯ Endovascular treatment is safe and effective for emergency treatment of life-threatening acute thoracic aortic syndromes. Results are encouraging, particularly for traumatic aortic ruptures. However, regular follow-up is mandatory, particularly in the other pathologies, to identify late complications of the stent-graft and to perform appropriate additional corrections as required.

Randomized Controlled TrialDoes prebiopsy, nonsterile ultrasonography gel affect biopsy-site asepsis?
The purpose of this study was to determine the extent to which the use of nonsterile gel, prior to antiseptic procedures in ultrasonography (US)-guided percutaneous biopsies, results in contamination of the biopsy site. ⋯ We conclude that nonsterile gel used prior to percutaneous biopsy does not affect biopsy-site asepsis.
