Adult 'PICC' Device May be Used as a Tunnelled Central Venous Catheter in Children.
Central venous access in children, in particular small children and infants, is challenging. We have developed a technique employing adult peripherally inserted central venous catheters (PICCs) as tunnelled central venous catheters (TCVCs) in children. The principal advantage of this novel technique is that the removal technique is less complex than that of conventional cuffed TCVCs. The catheter can be removed simply by being pulled out and does not require general anaesthesia. The purpose of this study is to determine the success, safety and utility of this technique and to identify the rate of late complications. We describe the 6-year experience in our unit. ⋯ Using a PICC device as a TCVC in small children appears to be a safe technique, with an acceptable complication profile.

Which Criteria Applied in Multi-Phasic CT Can Predict Early Tumor Response in Patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma Treated Using Conventional TACE: RECIST, mRECIST, EASL or qEASL?
Our study aimed to evaluate quantitative tumor response assessment (quantitative EASL-[qEASL]) on computed tomography (CT) images in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treated using conventional transarterial chemoembolization (cTACE), compared to existing 1-dimensional and 2-dimensional methods (RECIST, mRECIST, EASL). ⋯ Level 2a, retrospective cohort study.

Endovascular Repair of 40 Visceral Artery Aneurysms and Pseudoaneurysms with the Viabahn Stent-Graft: Technical Aspects, Clinical Outcome and Mid-Term Patency.
Endovascular repair of true visceral artery aneurysms (VAAs) and pseudoaneurysms (VAPAs) with stent-grafting (SG) can simultaneously allow aneurysm exclusion and vessel preservation, minimizing the risk of ischemic complications. Our aim was to report a single-center experience on SG of visceral aneurysms, focusing on technical aspects, clinical outcome and mid-term patency. ⋯ SG of VAAs and VAPAs was safe and effective, particularly in elective treatments. The Viabahn stent-graft, flexible and without shape memory, is suitable for endovascular repair of tortuous visceral arteries.

Safety Considerations and Local Tumor Control Following Percutaneous Image-Guided Cryoablation of T1b Renal Tumors.
To retrospectively assess the safety and oncological efficacy of percutaneous image-guided cryoablation (CA) of T1b (> 4 cm/< 7 cm) renal tumors. ⋯ Percutaneous CA of T1b renal tumors is safe and satisfactory rates of LTC are expected at the early follow-ups. Further studies are needed to confirm the long-term efficacy of this procedure.

Transvenous Retrograde Thoracic Ductography: Initial Experience with 13 Consecutive Cases.
To report the feasibility and findings of transvenous retrograde thoracic duct cannulation. ⋯ Transvenous retrograde thoracic ductography was successful in only eight of 13 patients (61.5%), but when the cervical part was the simple type, it was successful in eight of 10 patients (80%).
