Comparative StudyPercutaneous Ablation Versus Nephrectomy for Small Renal Masses: Clinical Outcomes in a Single-Center Cohort.
To compare the outcomes of percutaneous ablation (PA) versus nephrectomy (NE) for small renal masses (SRMs) in patients with T1 renal cell carcinoma and evaluate the role of pre-procedural biopsy in the treatment of SRM. ⋯ PA is a safe alternative to NE in the treatment of SRM, with similar overall survival and decreased complication rates. Pre-procedural biopsy decreases the rate of intervention for benign tumors and should be routinely performed.

ReviewBalloon Pulmonary Angioplasty for Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension.
Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) is a potentially lethal outcome of pulmonary embolism. Balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) is aimed at improving pulmonary perfusion and pulmonary hemodynamics and has gained a lot of interest recently in patients either unsuitable for or refractory to surgical pulmonary endarterectomy. This article outlines the clinical features and diagnostic criteria, imaging evaluation, current medical and surgical treatment options for CTEPH. BPA is discussed in detail, focusing on the rationale, patient selection, technical details, post-procedural care and outcomes.

Comparative StudyFuture Liver Remnant Indocyanine Green Plasma Clearance Rate as a Predictor of Post-hepatectomy Liver Failure After Portal Vein Embolization.
To evaluate the utility of future liver remnant plasma clearance rate of indocyanine green (ICGK-F) for predicting post-hepatectomy liver failure (PHLF) compared with percentage future liver remnant volume-to-total liver volume ratio (%FLR) after portal vein embolization (PVE). ⋯ ICGK-F was significantly higher in the grade A PHLF group than in the non-grade A PHLF group (grades B and C), and ICGK-F was more useful for predicting PHLF than %FLR.

Transarterial Embolization with Small-Size Particles Loaded with Irinotecan for the Treatment of Colorectal Liver Metastases: Results of the MIRACLE III Study.
This pilot study was performed to investigate safety and local tumor control following transarterial embolization with small-size particles loaded with irinotecan (DEB-IRI) in patients with colorectal liver metastases (CRLM). ⋯ Level 4, case series.

Image-Guided Thermal Ablation for Non-resectable Recurrence of Renal Cell Cancer Following Nephrectomy: Clinical Experience with Eleven Patients.
To assess the feasibility, safety and clinical outcomes of image-guided percutaneous thermal ablation as salvage therapy for local recurrence of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) in patients initially treated surgically with curative intent. ⋯ Image-guided percutaneous thermal ablation is a feasible, safe and effective for local recurrence after nephrectomy, representing a non-surgical alternative for unresectable disease.
