Image-Guided Thermal Ablation for Non-resectable Recurrence of Renal Cell Cancer Following Nephrectomy: Clinical Experience with Eleven Patients.
To assess the feasibility, safety and clinical outcomes of image-guided percutaneous thermal ablation as salvage therapy for local recurrence of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) in patients initially treated surgically with curative intent. ⋯ Image-guided percutaneous thermal ablation is a feasible, safe and effective for local recurrence after nephrectomy, representing a non-surgical alternative for unresectable disease.

Prophylactic Placement of Internal Iliac Balloons in Patients with Abnormal Placental Implantation: Maternal and Foetal Outcomes.
To report on outcomes following the use of prophylactic internal iliac artery occlusion balloons in patients with abnormal placental implantation. ⋯ Prophylactic placement of arterial balloons prior to caesarean section in patients with placenta accreta is well tolerated and leads to satisfactory maternal and foetal outcomes with minimal complications.

Comparative StudyNon-surgical Management of Blunt Splenic Trauma: A Comparative Analysis of Non-operative Management and Splenic Artery Embolization-Experience from a European Trauma Center.
The objective of our study was to retrospectively compare the outcomes of non-operative management (NOM) and splenic artery embolization (SAE) in the management of hemodynamically stable patients with splenic injuries. ⋯ Our study observed a high splenic salvage rate with the use of SAE as an adjunct to NOM, and suggests that it may be further improved with appropriate patient selection and an improved embolization technique.

CT-Guided Translumbar Placement of Permanent Catheters in the Inferior Vena Cava: Description of the Technique with Technical Success and Complications Data.
To evaluate indications, technical success rate and complications of CT-guided translumbar catheter placement in the inferior vena cava for long-term central venous access (Port and Hickman catheters) as a bail-out approach in patients with no alternative options for permanent central venous access. ⋯ CT-guided translumbar placement of permanent catheters is a technically feasible and safe method for permanent central venous access as last resort in chronically occluded veins of the upper extremities.

High-Frequency Jet Ventilation During Cryoablation of Small Renal Tumours.
To evaluate the effect of high-frequency jet ventilation (HFJV) in place of standard intermittent positive-pressure ventilation (IPPV) on procedure duration, patient radiation dose, complication rates, and outcomes during CT-guided cryoablation of small renal tumours. ⋯ By reducing target tumour motion during CT-guided renal cryoablation, HFJV can reduce procedure times and exposure to ionising radiation. HFJV provides an important adjunct to complex image-guided interventions, with potential to improve safety and treatment outcomes.
