Observational StudyA population-based study of cardiovascular disease mortality risk in US cancer patients.
This observational study characterized cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality risk for multiple cancer sites, with respect to the following: (i) continuous calendar year, (ii) age at diagnosis, and (iii) follow-up time after diagnosis. ⋯ The majority of deaths from CVD occur in patients diagnosed with breast, prostate, or bladder cancer. We observed that from the point of cancer diagnosis forward into survivorship cancer patients (all sites) are at elevated risk of dying from CVDs compared to the general US population. In endometrial cancer, the first year after diagnosis poses a very high risk of dying from CVDs, supporting early involvement of cardiologists in such patients.

Observational StudyDevelopment and validation of a multivariable prediction model for major adverse cardiovascular events after early stage breast cancer: a population-based cohort study.
Develop a score to predict the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) after early stage breast cancer (EBC) to facilitate personalized decision-making about potentially cardiotoxic treatments and interventions to reduce cardiovascular risk. ⋯ Cardiovascular prognosis after EBC can be estimated using patients' pre-treatment characteristics.

Women have lower chances than men to be resuscitated and survive out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
Previous studies on sex differences in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) had limited scope and yielded conflicting results. We aimed to provide a comprehensive overall view on sex differences in care utilization, and outcome of OHCA. ⋯ In case of OHCA, women are less often resuscitated by bystanders than men. When resuscitation is attempted, women have lower survival rates at each successive stage of care. These sex gaps are likely explained by lower rate of SIR in women, which can only partly be explained by resuscitation characteristics.
