Radiation dose reduction in soft tissue neck CT using adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction (ASIR).
To compare objective and subjective image quality in neck CT images acquired at different tube current-time products (275 mAs and 340 mAs) and reconstructed with filtered-back-projection (FBP) and adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction (ASIR). ⋯ Adapting ASIR into neck CT protocols reduced effective dose by 17% without compromising image quality.

To investigate non-contrast-enhanced Fourier decomposition MRI (FD MRI) for assessment of regional lung perfusion in patients with Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) in comparison to dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE MRI). ⋯ FD MRI is a promising technique that allows for assessing regional lung perfusion in NSCLC patients without contrast media or ionizing radiation. However, for being applied in clinical routine, image quality and robustness of the technique need to be further improved.

Correlation between MRI and double-balloon urethrography findings in the diagnosis of female periurethral lesions.
This study aims to evaluate the correlation of MRI findings with double-balloon urethrography (DBU) in diagnosing female urethral diverticula and other periurethral lesions. In this retrospective study, females with clinically suspected periurethral lesions who underwent both MRI and DBU between 2008 and 2012 were evaluated. MRI was performed on a 1.5 Tesla unit using a pelvic phased array coil. ⋯ No periurethral lesion was found by either modality in 2 cases. The correlation between MRI and DBU in diagnosing female periurethral lesions is very good for anatomical delineation of diverticula. MRI, which does not involve radiation, may also indicate alternative diagnoses that can contribute to proper patient management.

Intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) in evaluation of breast lesions: comparison with conventional DWI.
To obtain perfusion as well as diffusion information in normal breast tissues and breast lesions from intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) imaging with biexponential analysis of multiple b-value diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and compare these parameters to apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) obtained with monoexponential analysis in their ability to discriminate benign lesions and malignant tumors. ⋯ DWI response curves in malignant tumors, benign lesions and normal fibroglandular tissues are found to be biexponential fit in comparison with the monoexponential fit for simple cysts. IVIM provides separate quantitative measurement of D for cellularity and f and D* for vascularity and is helpful for differentiation between benign and malignant breast lesions.

To validate Fourier decomposition (FD) magnetic resonance (MR) imaging in cystic fibrosis (CF) patients with dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) MR imaging. ⋯ FD MR imaging provides equivalent diagnostic information to DCE MR imaging in CF patients. Automated assessment of regional perfusion defects using FD and DCE MR imaging is comparable to visual scoring but allows for percentage-based analysis.
