Lu-DKFZ-PSMA-617, a urea-based compound, binds to the extracellular domain of prostate-specific membrane antigen, thus providing an effective target for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Before its therapeutic use, it is necessary that the radiation dosimetry of this radiopharmaceutical be studied to determine the safe activity that can be administered in patients to prevent haematological, renal and liver toxicity. The present study thus aimed to assess the pharmacokinetics and dosimetry of Lu-DKFZ-PSMA-617 in CRPC patients. ⋯ Lu-DKFZ-PSMA-617 therapy is a safe option in the treatment of mCRPC patients.

This study aimed to assess the efficacy of fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (F-FDG)-PET for predicting overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) in oesophageal cancer patients after definitive chemoradiotherapy (CRT) and prognostic importance of metabolic response detected by post-treatment PET at least 3 months after completing CRT. ⋯ Metabolic response assessed by post-treatment F-FDG-PET at least 3 months after CRT showed that post-treatment SUVmax and percent SUV change were important survival predictors.

We aimed to investigate the relationship between histopathological and immunohistochemical features of male breast cancer (MBC) and comprehensive fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose (F-FDG) PET/computed tomography (CT) parameters. ⋯ Although no correlation was found between metabolic parameters and groups categorized on the basis of histopathological or immunohistochemical features, F-FDG PET/CT is a reliable imaging modality to determine tumor size, axillary lymph node involvement, and metabolic TNM staging of MBC. In addition, none of those metabolic F-FDG PET/CT parameters predicted survival in MBC.

The aim of this retrospective study was to determine whether glucose metabolism assessed by fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (F-FDG) PET/computed tomography (CT) provides prognostic information independent of established prognostic factors in patients with gastric lymphoma. ⋯ A higher SUVmax on pretreatment F-FDG PET/CT can predict poorer survival in patients with gastric lymphoma.

Prospective comparison of whole-body bone SPECT and sodium 18F-fluoride PET in the detection of bone metastases from breast cancer.
The superiority of sodium F-fluoride PET (F-PET)/computed tomography (CT) over planar and single field-of-view single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) bone scintigraphy with Tc-methylene diphosphonate in bone metastases detection has been established. The present study prospectively compares whole-body Tc-methylene diphosphonate SPECT (WB-SPECT) and F-PET performance indices for the detection of bone metastases in breast cancer. ⋯ F-PET had higher sensitivity for the diagnosis of bone metastases from breast cancer compared with WB-SPECT, showing a statistically significant 32% increase on lesion-based analysis.
