The gastrointestinal endoscopy competency assessment tool for pediatric colonoscopy.
Validated assessment tools are required to support competency-based education. We aimed to assess the reliability and validity of the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Competency Assessment Tool for Pediatric Colonoscopy (GiECATKIDS), an instrument developed by 41 North American experts using Delphi methodology. ⋯ The GiECATKIDS demonstrates strong reliability and validity as a measure of performance of pediatric colonoscopy that can be used to support training and assessment.

Perceptions of gender equality in work-life balance, salary, promotion, and harassment: results of the NASPGHAN task force survey.
Gender equality in the workplace has not been described in pediatric gastroenterology. ⋯ Satisfaction with work-life balance is lower among women versus men pediatric gastroenterologists, but does not correlate with flexibility of spouse's job or caring for young children. Gender-divergent perception of promotion, parity of compensation, and mentoring requires further investigation.
