Case Reports[Amniotic fluid embolism: successful evolution course of isolated disseminated intravascular coagulation and early biological diagnosis].
Amniotic embolism is a sudden, unexpected and devastating complication of pregnancy. The diagnosis is usually made on the basis of clinical presentation after excluding differential diagnosis or at autopsy in the event of death of the parturient. We need to develop simple, non-invasive, sensitive tests for a reliable and early diagnosis. ⋯ A 3370 g child was delivered by caesarean section. The patient survived without sequelae. The diagnosis of amniotic embolism was established by the presence of amniotic cells in the maternal central venous blood as well as in the bronchoalveolar fluid.

[Request of epidural analgesia by women and obstetrical teams in four French areas. Part I: Request for analgesia].
Epidural analgesia (EA) is widely used in France to treat the labour pain. The aim of this study was to evaluate and analyse the reasons of EA requirements by parturients and obstetricians. ⋯ The request for EA mainly comes from women. Probably, in France, the request for EA will not diminish in the future. Analgesia networks could be considered.

Case Reports[Pelvic pain by acute symphysis pubis separation after vaginal delivery].
Pelvic pain during pregnancy and postpartum period is common. Pubic separation is a physiologic phenomenon caused by pregnancy and delivery. ⋯ Pubic symphysis separation was diagnosed according both to the clinical symptoms and to the radiology. A local anesthetic infiltration was performed twice to substantially relieve the patient.

[Request of epidural analgesia by women and obstetrical teams in four French areas. Part II: Management of epidural analgesia].
Epidural analgesia (EA) is widely used in France to treat the labour pain. The aim of this study was to evaluate and analyse the rate of EA and the ratio between EA required by parturients and total EA realised (performance ratio). ⋯ To correctly answer to the request of EA, it seems necessary that one or more anaesthesiologists were dedicated to the maternity units, and that they were on duty into the hospital. So it seems important to have large maternities with adequate number of anaesthesiologists.

Case Reports[Right main bronchus tumoral obstruction during left pneumonectomy].
We report a case of severe airway obstruction during a pneumonectomy, due to a tumor embolus in the contralateral main bronchus. Trachea was intubated with a single-lumen tube with a bronchial blocker. This kind of accident is very rare, and often fatal. The mass was retrieved by rigid bronchoscopy and the patient made an uneventful recovery.
