Does an educational strategy based on systematic preoperative assessment of simplified Apfel's score decrease postoperative nausea and vomiting?
Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) is a frequent and unpleasant side effect occurring after anaesthesia and surgery. In the present study, we hypothesized that an educational strategy based on systematic preoperative assessment of the simplified Apfel's score decreased the incidence of PONV in a population of adult surgical patients. ⋯ An educational strategy based on systematic preoperative measurement and recording of the simplified Apfel's score is efficient to decrease markedly the incidence of PONV in a population of adult surgical patients.

To evaluate the 6 hours haemodynamic effects of dopexamine (DPX) infusion in septic shock patients with persistent hyperlactatemia treated with high dose of norepinephrine (NE). ⋯ This study suggests that DPX did induce a decrease in lactatemia in 52% of septic shock, that could be predict by an increase in MAP (>14% within 30 minutes). Controlled studies are needed to confirm those preliminary results.

[High fidelity simulation in Anesthesia and Intensive Care: context and opinion of performing centres--a survey by the French College of Anesthesiologists and Intensivists].
High fidelity simulation is rapidly expanding in France. The question of knowing how to accredit this new mode of continuous education and how far it is available for this purpose is pending. The purpose of this survey was to collect how active centres operate and which criteria they would prefer to accredit this form of continuing medical education. ⋯ high fidelity simulation is rapidly expending in France but its ability to contribute to continuous medical education is still limited to date.

Case Reports[Massive recurrent haemoptysis in a pregnant woman with preeclampsia].
Massive haemoptysis are rare in pregnant woman. Besides usual causes of haemoptysis, cases of idiopathic haemoptysis have been described during pregnancy, probably with a hormonal role. ⋯ Three sessions of bronchial artery embolization have been performed with success. The management of idiopathic haemoptysis in pregnant woman seems to be based on the usual algorithm of management, emphasizing on the control of blood pressure, and the key role of interventional radiology.

[Ultrasound-guided interscalene block: Influence of anatomic variations in clinical practice].
This study aimed to evaluate visibility of interscalenic brachial plexus (IBP) variations with ultrasonography (US). Secondary end-point compared success rate of the interscalene block (IB) in shoulder surgery with or without the presence of variation. ⋯ The high-resolution cervical US highlights the IBP variations. These variations appear not to have any relevant influence on the performance of the single shot IB.
