LncRNA TUG1 promotes cell proliferation and suppresses apoptosis in osteosarcoma by regulating miR-212-3p/FOXA1 axis.
LncRNA taurine upregulated gene 1 (TUG1) was reported to act as a possible oncogene in osteosarcoma (OS) development. However, the underlying molecular basis of TUG1 involved in the progression of OS remains to be thoroughly investigated. ⋯ TUG1 promoted OS cell proliferation and suppressed apoptosis by regulating the miR-212-3p/FOXA1 axis. Therefore, TUG1/miR-212-3p/FOXA1 axis may be a promising therapeutic target in OS treatment.

Histone deacetylase 6 inhibitor ACY-1215 protects against experimental acute liver failure by regulating the TLR4-MAPK/NF-κB pathway.
Histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) is considered a new target for anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and neurodegenerative treatment. ACY-1215 is a selective histone deacetylase 6 inhibitor, and it has been recognized as a potential anticancer and anti-inflammation drug. The aim of our study was to investigate whether ACY-1215 has protective effects on acute liver failure (ALF) in mice and explore its potential mechanism. ⋯ ACY-1215 treatment also attenuated the serum and messenger RNA levels of the proinflammatory cytokines. Pretreatment of ACY-1215 significantly decreased the protein expression of TLR4 and the activation of MAPK and NF-κB signalling pathways. ACY-1215 has potential therapeutic value in mice with ALF by directly inhibiting inflammatory response via regulation of the TLR4-MAPK/NF-kB pathway.

The prevention of TNF-α/IFN-γ mixture-induced inflammation in human keratinocyte and atopic dermatitis-like skin lesions in Nc/Nga mice by mineral-balanced deep sea water.
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease caused by environmental and chemical allergens. Despite the complexity of its pathogenesis, many investigations have shown that substances having anti-inflammatory activities alleviated the pathology of AD. Here, we evaluated the effects of mineral-balanced deep sea water (DSW) on AD-like skin damage in both in vitro and in vivo. ⋯ In animal experiments, we showed that hardness 2000 of mineral-balanced DSW decreased the serum levels of IgE, IL-4, and histamine, and alleviated the severity score and numbers of scratching in dinitrochlorobezene (DNCB)-treated Nc/Nga mice. Furthermore, increased epidermal thickness and mast cell infiltration by DNCB treatment were reversed by the application of hardness 2000 mineral-balanced DSW. Taken together, the present investigation indicates that mineral-balanced DSW is a potent substance with anti-atopic dermatitis activity.
