Comparative StudyCommunity screening for left ventricular systolic dysfunction using plasma and urinary natriuretic peptides.
We sought to compare urinary and plasma N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (N-BNP) in left ventricular systolic dysfunction (LVSD) diagnosis. ⋯ Urinary N-BNP used together with plasma N-BNP could reduce the echocardiographic burden in screening programs.

Comparative StudyTreatment of saphenous vein graft lesions with drug-eluting stents: immediate and midterm outcome.
The purpose of the present report was to evaluate clinical and angiographic outcomes of drug-eluting stent (DES) implantation in saphenous vein graft (SVG) lesions. ⋯ Compared to BMS implantation, DES implantation in SVG lesions appears safe with favorable and improved mid-term outcomes.

Plasma triglycerides and type III hyperlipidemia are independently associated with premature familial coronary artery disease.
This study was designed to explore contributions of plasma total triglycerides (TGs) and type III hyperlipidemia to the risk of premature familial coronary artery disease (CAD). ⋯ The association between the plasma TG level and premature familial CAD is strong, graded, and independent. Risk of CAD is also strikingly elevated with type III hyperlipidemia.
