Observational StudyFree flap for lower limb salvage in infectious purpura fulminans.
Infectious purpura fulminans is a disabling disease often leading to amputations. Free flaps preserve limb length, covering exposed areas. We examined the efficacy of free flaps for lower limb salvage in infectious purpura fulminans survivors by evaluating surgical management, walking ability and quality of life. ⋯ Use of the free flap in patients with infectious purpura fulminans, after multidisciplinary reflection, is an appropriate procedure that preserves limb length. In spite of secondary complications, preservation of limb length enables patients to resume walking, with relatively good independence and quality of life.

Multicenter Study[Limb necrotizing soft tissue infection (NSTI) and necrotising fasciitis: A bicentric study between 2000 and 2017 on the quality of life and functional impact].
Limb necrotising soft tissue infection and necrotising fasciitis surgical debridement results in significant soft tissue losses. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the functional impact and the quality of life of survivors. ⋯ We have not found a relationship between loss of joints motions and long term quality of life for those patients. High excised body surface area and high length of stay are correlated with high DLQI and thus a lower quality of life.

Case Reports[Hetero-digital toe flap according to the « spare-part » concept taken from a duplicated toe for the treatment of a cutaneous flessum of an associated clinodactyly].
The correction of cutaneous deficiency encountered in clinodactyly is an important aspect of its treatment. The use of the skin lining of an adjacent duplicated toe as a « spare-part » flap may be of interest in providing good quality tissue. ⋯ The surgery for congenital malformations of the toes requires perfect management of the skin capital. The use of a « spare-part » toe flap taken from the toe to be amputated is a viable solution for the treatment of a cutaneous flessum encountered in a clinodactyly of the adjacent finger.

[Tissue expansion in child's burn reconstruction. Management principles and eleven years retrospective study of 42 patients].
With constraints and a risk of complication, tissue expansion in child's burn sequelae need a controlled surgical procedure, and a therapeutic plan appropriate to the specific pediatric healing, growth, and development. ⋯ Tissue expansion in child's burn sequelae is ideal in scalp, good in neck, chest and proximal upper limb, and to do carefully in lower limb and face.

Propeller perforator flaps for coverage of soft tissue defects in the middle and distal lower extremities.
The middle and distal leg coverage is demanding procedure for reconstructive surgeon until evolution of local perforator flaps which becomes as valuable options in lower limb reconstruction. The goal of our study was to assess the results, reliability, safety, and possible complications of the local propeller perforator flaps in lower extremity reconstruction. ⋯ The perforator propeller flaps are safe, relatively simple procedure and consider as an ideal option in reconstructing small-medium defects of the middle and distal third of the leg which provide similar skin texture with low donor site morbidity.
