Review[Substantiated scientific facts, current scientific facts. What are the consequences in esthetic surgery?].
"Substantiated scientific facts" is reported in 1936 Mercier decree. This expression is often confused with current scientific facts. But, for jurists, they have different senses with consequences in aesthetic surgery, particularly when using new procedures or when new indications are founded for substantiated techniques. Fat autograft in breast aesthetic surgery is a current event example.

[Tissue expansion in surgical treatment of burn scars of the scalp].
Deep burns of the scalp responsible of alopecia, used to be a real surgical challenge until apparition of tissue expansion in the 1980's. Tissue expanders are in this way employed in our unit of plastic surgery since more than 20 years, especially for head and neck reconstruction after burns. Thanks to operators and teams experience, incidence of postsurgical complications is still decreasing; in the same time, many improvements have been performed, regarding to surgical technique, choice of expanders (size, location...), or shape of flaps. All those technical details are discussed in order to optimize surgical results.

Activation of the coagulation process is frequently encountered in patients with venous vascular malformations and results in the local formation of clots and the consumption of components of the coagulation process (platelets, clotting factors). This activation accounts for multiple biological abnormalities such as the elevation of the D-dimers, reduction of fibrinogen and platelets count and less frequently a local intravascular coagulation (LIC). ⋯ In case of LIC, bleeding complications may be observed. Therapeutically, antithrombotic treatment with low-molecular weight heparin can improve the local coagulopathy with beneficial effects on blood tests disturbances, pain and bleeding tendency.
