MiR-199a suppresses prostate cancer paclitaxel resistance by targeting YES1.
Prostate cancer chemoresistance is a major contributor to the poor survival of patients. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play an important role in regulating cancer resistance. Here we aim to explore the role and mechanism of miR-199a in regulating prostate cancer resistance. ⋯ The downregulation of miR-199a contributes to PTX resistance in prostate cancer. YES1 mediates the regulation of miR-199a in prostate cancer PTX resistance. This miR-199a replacement therapy has potential to overcome PTX resistance.

Review Meta Analysis Comparative StudyComparison of fosfomycin against fluoroquinolones for transrectal prostate biopsy prophylaxis: an individual patient-data meta-analysis.
To systematically review and meta-analyse available evidence comparing fosfomycin trometamol (FT) to fluoroquinolone (FQ) prophylaxis to prevent transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy (TRUSPB) related infectious complications. ⋯ Patients who received FT prophylaxis were less likely than those who received FQ prophylaxis to develop infections overall, as well as severe and resistant infections after TRUSPB. Assessing the performance of FT in other geographic locations or in comparison to targeted prophylaxis based on risk assessment or rectal cultures is desired.

The association between intraoperative fluid intake and postoperative complications in patients undergoing radical cystectomy with an enhanced recovery protocol.
To evaluate the association between intraoperative fluid intake and postoperative complications in patients who underwent radical cystectomy (RC) for bladder cancer with an enhanced recovery protocol. ⋯ Higher intraoperative fluid intake was not found to independently increase the complication rate following radical cystectomy. Larger studies and prospective trials are needed to determine if fluid optimization may play a role in decreasing morbidity after this major surgery.
