Complications of ganciclovir implant surgery in patients with cytomegalovirus retinitis: the Ganciclovir Cidofovir Cytomegalovirus Retinitis Trial.
To describe the complications of ganciclovir implant surgery in patients with cytomegalovirus retinitis. ⋯ Ganciclovir implant surgery in patients with AIDS and cytomegalovirus retinitis was associated with a low risk of serious complications in the first 60 days after surgery. Vitreous hemorrhage was the most commonly observed complication and resolved in all cases.

To describe the natural history of intraocular hemorrhages related to subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) as a result of ruptured intracranial aneurysms. ⋯ Except for patients with bilateral vitreous hemorrhages, early vitrectomy may not be necessary in most cases of intraocular hemorrhages associated with nontraumatic SAH.
