Children's burn injuries can have a significant psychosocial impact on parents. However, the stress involved in caring for a child following a burn can often go unrecognized and does not necessarily prompt help seeking by parents. ⋯ This online resource, hosting information and peers' personal experiences, offers promising and exciting opportunities to empower parents whilst providing accessible supportive advice to encourage self-care and formal/informal support seeking when necessary.

Impact of specialized pediatric palliative care programs on communication and decision-making.
To summarize and analyze the impact of specialized pediatric palliative care (SPPC) programs on communication and decision-making for children with life-threatening conditions. ⋯ More research on SPPC program efficacy is needed from the perspective of the ill child, as well as about barriers to end-of-life discussions and the specific aspects of SPPC programs responsible for improving outcomes.

The aim of this study was to assess the validity and reliability of the Decision Identification and Classification Taxonomy for Use in Medicine (DICTUM) applied to optometry, to compare decisions in medical and optometric consultations, and to describe decisions in optometry. ⋯ Descriptive studiesofdecisions in patient-provider consultations is a first step for normative and prescriptive exploration of decision-making processes in health care.

New pharmacological measures assessing medication adherence, including longitudinal drug levels in hair, are emerging. Little is known, however, about how best to present results from such measures to patients and clinicians in comprehensive, easy-to-understand, acceptable formats. We, therefore, developed three graphical display prototypes of hypothetical daily drug concentrations measured in hair, and assessed their acceptability among participants. ⋯ Acceptable prototype-tested graphical displays of longitudinal patient-specific drug concentrations may enhance adherence monitoring in clinical settings.
