Prevalence of violence against indigenous women victims of human trafficking and its implications on physical injuries and disabilities in Monterrey city, Mexico.
Human trafficking victims suffer different kinds of physical abuse and torture that cause severe physical injuries. During 2016-17 a total of 68 indigenous labor and sex-trafficking women victims were surveyed in Monterrey city, Mexico to explore the prevalence of violence against them and its implications on physical injuries and disabilities. We found that women reported different types of injuries and long term disabilities. Considering the level of violence and occupational hazards faced by victims, we suggest there is an urgent need to create instruments in the Mexican national human trafficking program to address the unmet health needs of the victims.

"I'm not the woman I was": Women's perceptions of the effects of fibromyalgia on private life.
In this qualitative study, we explored how gender shapes women's experiences of living with fibromyalgia and how it affects their private lives. Through thematic analysis of data from 13 in-depth interviews in Spain, we identified seven themes which reflect that these women feel remorse and frustration for not being able to continue to fulfill the gender expectation of caring for others and for the home. This research contributes to a better understanding of what suffering from fibromyalgia implies for women and provides insights into how families and providers can support women with fibromyalgia in order to achieve a beneficial lifestyle.

In this study, researchers explored mothers' coping strategies in dealing with birth by unplanned Caesarean section. Mothers' experiences of a traumatic birth could be influenced by perceived strengths when coping with the stress related to the incident. Coping strategies resulted in reassessment of the birth process and were associated with a more positive and memorable experience. ⋯ Data were analyzed thematically. Phenomenological theory served as a framework for the structuring, organizing, and categorizing of data. Mothers described several factors and coping strategies that they perceived to be effective in reducing the impact of their traumatic birth experiences.
