To develop an efficient acquisition for high-resolution diffusion imaging and allow in vivo whole-brain acquisitions at 600- to 700-μm isotropic resolution. ⋯ The gSlider-SMS approach provides a new, efficient way to acquire high-resolution diffusion data. The objective of this study was to demonstrate the feasibility of a cerebral metabolic rate of oxygen (CMRO2 ) mapping method based on its minimum local variance (MLV) without vascular challenge using quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) and cerebral blood flow (CBF). ⋯ Minimum local variance-based CMRO2 mapping without vascular challenge using QSM and arterial spin labeling is feasible in healthy subjects. To present a constrained slice-dependent (CSD) background-suppression (BS) scheme in 2D arterial spin labeling (ASL) using simultaneous multislice acquisition with blipped-CAIPIRINHA (controlled aliasing in parallel imaging results in higher acceleration). ⋯ The proposed CSD-BS scheme for 2D-SMS pCASL offers a promising approach for effective suppression of background signals across a wide range of T1 to achieve whole-brain perfusion imaging. The most common γ-aminobutyric-acid (GABA) editing approach, MEGA-PRESS, uses J-editing to measure GABA distinct from larger overlapping metabolites, but suffers contamination from coedited macromolecules (MMs) comprising 40 to 60% of the observed signal. MEGA-SPECIAL is an alternative method with better MM suppression, but is not widely used primarily because of its relatively poor spatial localization. Our goal was to develop an improved MM-suppressed GABA editing sequence at 3 Tesla. ⋯ This improved MEGA-SPECIAL sequence provides unbiased GABA measurements with reduced variance as compared with conventional MEGA-PRESS. This approach is also relatively insensitive to the range of B0 drifts typically observed in in vivo human studies. The diagnostic gold standard for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is an invasive biopsy. Noninvasive Cartesian MRI fat quantification remains limited to a breath-hold (BH). In this work, a novel free-breathing 3D stack-of-radial (FB radial) liver fat quantification technique is developed and evaluated in a preliminary study. ⋯ Accurate 3D liver fat quantification can be performed in 1 to 2 min using a novel FB radial technique.
