Simultaneous multislice (SMS) has been proved to be powerful for accelerating single-shot echo-planar imaging (ssh-EPI) based diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), but there are some obstacles for applying SMS to interleaved echo-planar imaging (iEPI) DWI. The primary challenge is to effectively combine slice unfolding for SMS and intershot phase correction for multishot DWI. In this study, a novel acquisition and reconstruction method for SMS-accelerated high-resolution iEPI DWI is proposed. ⋯ The proposed acquisition and reconstruction is an effective method for accelerating multishot high-resolution DWI, which may be valuable for both neuroscience research and clinical diagnosis. To develop and validate a dual-contrast image subtraction (DCIS) strategy for eliminating the flow artifacts in black-blood carotid MRI. ⋯ DCIS is demonstrated to be an effective strategy for sufficiently removing the residual flow signal from black-blood carotid MRI. Susceptibility-based blood oxygenation measurements in small vessels of the brain derive from gradient echo (GRE) phase and can provide localized assessment of brain function and pathology. However, when vessel diameter becomes smaller than the acquisition voxel size, partial volume effects compromise these measurements. The purpose of this study was to develop a technique to improve the reliability of vessel oxygenation estimates in the presence of partial volume effects. ⋯ JUMP exploits both magnitude and phase data in GRE imaging to mitigate partial volume effects in estimation of vessel oxygenation. The aim of the present work was to validate and optimize adiabatic T1ρ and T2ρ mapping for in vivo measurements of articular cartilage at 3 Tesla (T). ⋯ The findings indicate that sequences are suitable for quantitative in vivo assessment of articular cartilage at 3 T. Parallel imaging and partial Fourier acquisition are two classical approaches for accelerated MRI. Methods that combine these approaches often rely on prior knowledge of the image phase, but the need to obtain this prior information can place practical restrictions on the data acquisition strategy. In this work, we propose and evaluate SENSE-LORAKS, which enables combined parallel imaging and partial Fourier reconstruction without requiring prior phase information. ⋯ The SENSE-LORAKS framework provides promising new opportunities for highly accelerated MRI.
