We aimed to compare the safety and efficacy of pectoral nerve block (Pecs) I and II with control or other techniques used during breast cancer surgeries such as local anesthesia, paravertebral block, and erector spinae plane block (ESPB). ⋯ Pecs block is a safe and effective analgesic procedure during breast cancer surgeries. It shows lower intra and postoperative opioid consumption than ESPB, and reduces pain compared with control, paravertebral block, and local anesthesia, with better effect when combined with dexmedetomidine.

An Updated Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Duloxetine for Knee Osteoarthritis Pain.
We conducted the updated systematic review and meta-analysis of the best available quantitative and qualitative evidence to evaluate the effects and safety of duloxetine for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis (OA) pain. ⋯ Duloxetine may be an effective treatment option for knee OA patients but further rigorously designed and well-controlled randomized trials are warranted.

Quality of Life Related to Functional Disability in Migraine Patients: A Systematic Review and Network-meta Analysis.
The aim of this study was to conduct a systematic review and network meta-analysis of all randomized trials investigating effect of anti-calcitonin gene-related peptide monoclonal antibodies on disability related to migraine in adult patients. ⋯ For short-term prevention of migraine, fremanezumab demonstrated slightly better improvement in disability compared with other anti-calcitonin gene-related peptide monoclonal antibodies in adult patients with migraine.

The Use of Magnesium Sulfate and Peripheral Nerve Blocks: An Updated Meta-analysis and Systematic Review.
With the popularization of ultrasound, nerve blocks have been widely implemented in current clinical practice. Although, they have seen limited success due to their shorter duration and suboptimal analgesia. Magnesium sulfate as a local anesthetic adjuvant for peripheral nerve blocks could enhance the effects of local anesthetics. However, previous investigations have not thoroughly investigated the analgesic efficacy of magnesium sulfate as an adjunct to local anesthetics for peripheral nerve blocks. Thus, we attempted to fill the gap in the existing literature by conducting a meta-analysis. ⋯ Adjuvant magnesium sulfate enhanced the anesthetic effects of local anesthetics and improved postoperative analgesia following the perineural blockade.

What Influences Outcomes from Inpatient Multidisciplinary Pain Management Programs? A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.
Although inpatient multidisciplinary pain management programs (PMPs) are effective for chronic pain, not all patients benefit equally and there is limited evidence regarding predictors of outcome. This meta-analysis aimed to identify patient or program characteristics associated with outcomes from inpatient PMPs, and to examine the time course of effects following discharge. ⋯ Inpatient multidisciplinary PMPs may be well suited to patients with severe or long-lasting pain. Programs should adopt broad patient inclusion criteria, and outcomes were similar for programs based on cognitive-behavioral versus mindfulness/acceptance-based therapies.
