Case ReportsLife-threatening airway obstruction secondary to mass in children-a preventable event?
To investigate the management of children with life-threatening airway obstruction from large mediastinal masses. ⋯ Severe airway obstruction in children with an anterior mediastinal mass is not rare and can lead to complete obstruction, requiring cardiorespiratory resuscitation. Physician awareness and preparedness for respiratory complications are essential for proper management of children with mediastinal masses.

Case ReportsBronchial tear in a child after a liquid petroleum gas tank explosion.
Humans have been exposed to blast effects since the invention of gunpowder and explosives. Bronchial injury because of an explosion is a rare but lethal injury that requires prompt recognition and treatment. In this article, we present a case of a bronchial tear after an explosion.

Case ReportsMay the best friend be an enemy if not recognized early: hypernatremic dehydration due to breastfeeding.
Hypernatremic dehydration is a serious condition in the newborn period. We present 5 infants with hypernatremic dehydration due to breastfeeding; one of them died because of brain edema during treatment. Hypernatremic dehydration in breast-fed newborns is secondary to insufficient lactation and all mothers should be encouraged about breastfeeding, taught the signs of successful breastfeeding, and the warning signs of dehydration. Here, we discuss hypernatremic dehydration in breastfeeding neonates, its causes and treatment.
