Review Meta AnalysisSmoking cessation interventions and cessation rates in the oncology population: an updated systematic review and meta-analysis.
To evaluate tobacco smoking cessation interventions and cessation rates in the oncology population through a systematic review and meta-analysis. ⋯ Our systematic review and meta-analysis demonstrate that tobacco cessation interventions in the oncology population, in both the short-term and long-term follow-up groups, do not significantly affect cessation rates. The perioperative period, though, may represent an important teachable moment with regard to smoking cessation.

Comparative StudyUsefulness of adenotonsillar size for prediction of severity of obstructive sleep apnea and flow limitation.
Adenotonsillar hypertrophy is considered the most common cause of pediatric obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS). This study aimed to evaluate the relationships between tonsil/adenoid size, parameters of polysomnography, and subjective sleep symptoms. ⋯ Tonsil/adenoid size did not predict the severity of AHI. Nevertheless, adenoid size might be related to lowest oxygen saturation, which is thought to be related to subjective symptoms. Although flow limitation was related to tonsil size but not to QOL in the control group, further research will be needed to understand the importance of flow limitation and upper airway resistance syndrome in the pediatric population.

Comparative StudyCosmetic rhinoseptoplasty in acute nasal bone fracture.
Traditionally, rhinoseptoplasty for nasal bone fracture is only considered after an unsatisfactory outcome from initial closed reduction. However, better surgical outcomes may be achieved if rhinoseptoplasty is performed at the same time as the nasal bone fracture reduction. This study investigated the surgical outcomes of patients who underwent rhinoseptoplasty concomitantly with nasal bone fracture reduction according to their computed tomography image-based nasal bone fracture classifications. ⋯ Rhinoseptoplasty for acute nasal bone fractures can be performed at the same time as nasal bone fracture reduction. However, nasal bone fracture with septal fracture should be managed carefully.

Comparative StudyUse of apneic oxygenation for the performance of pan-endoscopy.
To evaluate the efficacy of apneic oxygenation for the performance of pan-endoscopy. ⋯ With appropriate monitoring, sufficient nitrogen elution, and proper patient selection, we believe that this technique is superior to jet ventilation and intubation for pan-endoscopy, allowing unimpeded operative visualization.
