Randomized Controlled TrialAdministration of a new diabetes-specific enteral formula results in an improved 24h glucose profile in type 2 diabetic patients.
Study the effect of several boluses of a new diabetes-specific formula (DSF) during the day on 24h glucose profile. ⋯ Using DSF resulted in significantly better 24h and postprandial glucose profiles than fibre-containing SF after bolus administration and may therefore help to improve glycaemic control in diabetic patients.

Increasing prevalence and low awareness, treatment and control of diabetes mellitus among Chinese adults: the InterASIA study.
To estimate the prevalence rates of impaired fasting glucose (IFG) and diabetes mellitus (DM) and to evaluate the awareness, treatment, and control of DM in the Chinese adult population. ⋯ The prevalence rate of DM among Chinese adults has been increasing in recent years. The rates of awareness, treatment and control of DM are relatively low. Improving the awareness, treatment, and control is urgently needed for the intervention of DM in the Chinese adult population.

Effect of a hypocaloric diet in transaminases in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and obese patients, relation with insulin resistance.
The aim of our study was to examine the changes in hypertransaminasemia after weight reduction in obese patients with and without nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and the relation with insulin resistance. ⋯ We showed that weight reduction secondary to a hypocaloric diet were associated with improvement in hypertransaminasemia and insulin resistance in NAFLD patients.
