To investigate the correlation between the pain rating index (PRi), which is an index derived from processed electroencephalography signals, and the end-tidal sevoflurane concentration (ETsevo). ⋯ The PRi showed a high negative correlation with the ETsevo. Therefore, the PRi can be used to guide the depth regulation of sevoflurane anesthesia.Clinical trial registration number: ChiCTR-IPR-17012092.

Non-invasive high-frequency oscillatory ventilation in preterm infants after extubation: a randomized, controlled trial.
To investigate the effectiveness and safety of non-invasive high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (NHFOV) in post-extubation preterm infants. ⋯ As post-extubation respiratory support in preterm infants, NHFOV has a lower reintubation rate compared with NCPAP and NIPPV, without increasing the rate of complications.

Influence of two-handed jaw thrust during tracheal intubation on postoperative sore throat: a prospective randomised study.
General anaesthesia with tracheal intubation results in sore throat. We evaluated the influence of the two-handed jaw thrust on postoperative sore throat in patients who require tracheal intubation. ⋯ The jaw thrust manoeuvre significantly reduced sore throat and hoarseness in patients after general anaesthesia using tracheal intubation.Clinical trial registration: NCT03568279.

Phlegmonous gastritis is a rare bacterial infection of the gastric wall, characterised by purulent inflammation of the gastric mucosa, submucosa and muscularis layers. Phlegmonous gastritis has a high mortality rate, even with correct diagnosis and antimicrobial therapy. ⋯ Our case indicates that early diagnosis and immediate treatment are crucial to achieve positive outcomes. The combination of sensitive antibiotics, gastric lavage and early enteral nutrition via nasojejunal feeding might be an effective alternative for the comprehensive treatment of acute phlegmonous gastritis.
