Randomized Controlled TrialRandomized Trial of Scrambler Therapy for Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy: Crossover Analysis.
Preliminary trials report that Scrambler Therapy, a form of electroanalgesia, may improve discomfort from chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN). ⋯ Similar findings from the initial randomization and crossover phases of this study support further evaluation of the efficacy of Scrambler therapy in alleviating CIPN symptoms. Evaluation in a larger, randomized controlled trial with standardized treatment is warranted.

Subjective Toxicity Profiles of Children in Treatment for Cancer: A New Guide to Supportive Care?
Children and adolescents with cancer experience treatment-related, subjective adverse events (AEs). Identifying distinct groups of patients who predictably experience higher prevalence of AEs could guide patient care. ⋯ Children with cancer are heterogeneous in experiencing subjective AEs. Gender, race, and time since diagnosis were significantly associated with higher subjective AE prevalence that may lead to psychological stress.

Observational StudyThe COmprehensive Score for financial Toxicity (COST) in China: validation and responsiveness.
Financial toxicity is a priority concern faced by cancer patients and oncology providers. A validated instrument is important to measure this toxicity and improve health-related quality of life of patients. ⋯ The Chinese version of COST is a valid and clinically responsive instrument. The identified baseline variables can be used to provide evidence for a financial toxicity intervention study.

Disability in basic activities of daily living is associated with symptom burden in older people with advanced cancer or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: A secondary data analysis.
Managing activities of daily living is important to people with advanced cancer or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Understanding disability in activities of daily living may inform service planning. ⋯ Disability in activities of daily living in advanced cancer or COPD is common, associated with increased symptom burden, and may be attenuated by use of assistive devices. Individual disability trajectories vary widely, with diverse disability profiles. Services should include rehabilitative interventions, guided by disability in individual activities of daily living.
