Spanish Adaptation of the Pediatric Memorial Symptom Assessment Scale for Children, Teens, and Caregivers.
There are no validated Spanish tools to assess symptom burden in pediatric cancer. The Pediatric Memorial Symptom Assessment Scale (Pediatric-MSAS) is an English valid multidimensional and comprehensive instrument. ⋯ Pediatric-MSAS-Spanish is feasible and reliable for assessing symptom burden in children with cancer. Validity of MSAS-Caregiver and MSAS-Teen was largely supported. Further work on MSAS-Child is warranted.

The level of distress from fatigue reported in the final two months of life by a palliative care population; An Australian national prospective, consecutive case series.
Fatigue is the most commonly reported symptom in life-limiting illnesses, although not much is known about the distress it causes patients as they approach death. ⋯ Distress from fatigue is high in this cohort of patients. Interventions to reduce this distress need to be a research priority.

Accuracy of the Palliative Prognostic Score with or without Clinicians' Prediction of Survival in Patients with Far Advanced Cancer.
Previous studies suggest that clinicians' prediction of survival (CPS) may have reduced the accuracy of objective indicators for prognostication in palliative care. ⋯ Overall, the PaP total score, PaP-CPS, and PaP without CPS showed good discriminative performances. However, the PaP total score and PaP-CPS were significantly more accurate than the PaP without CPS.

An Integrated Approach to Selecting a Prepared Medical Decision Maker.
We implemented a systematic multidisciplinary process to engage new outpatients with cancer in selecting and preparing a medical decision-maker. ⋯ This systematic multidisciplinary approach did not engage new outpatients with cancer in preparing a medical decision-maker. More active physician involvement and varied ways of engagement are needed.
