An Interprofessional Process for the Limitation of Life-Sustaining Treatments in France.
The provision of potentially non-beneficial life-sustaining treatments (LSTs) remains a challenging problem. In 2005, legislation in France established an interprofessional process by which non-beneficial LSTs could be withheld or withdrawn, permitting exploration of the effects of such a legally-protected process and its implementation. ⋯ The architecture of the interprofessional process created at two Parisian hospitals and its perceived benefits may be useful to clinicians and policy-makers attempting to establish processes, policies, or legislation directed at withholding or withdrawing potentially non-beneficial LSTs in the United States and elsewhere.

Healthcare Professionals' Experiences of the Barriers and Facilitators to Pediatric Pain Management in the Community at End-of-Life: A Qualitative Interview Study.

Community healthcare professionals require more education from experienced multidisciplinary teams to effectively manage pediatric pain at end-of-life and prevent emergency hospice or hospital admissions, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Physicians' opinion and practice with the continuous use of sedatives in the last days of life.
There are few international studies about the continuous use of sedatives (CUS) in the last days of life. ⋯ Many respondents in our study considered CUS acceptable for the relief of physical and psycho-existential suffering in the last days of life. The acceptability was lower regarding CUS for psycho-existential suffering and regarding CUS for patients with a longer life expectancy.

Parent and Adolescent Perspectives on the Impact of COVID on the Care of Seriously Ill Children.
Few studies have explored the impact of the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19) on the care of seriously ill children which may be especially affected due to the child's vulnerability, complexity of care, and high reliance on hospital-based care. ⋯ Families caring for seriously ill children during COVID-19 face increased challenges. Health systems should consider long-term telehealth/in-person hybrid care models that have potential to improve access to and satisfaction with care.
