The patient is a 62-year-old man with continuous positive airway pressure-intolerant obstructive sleep apnea who was enrolled in a study for a hypoglossal nerve upper airway stimulation device (UAS). Nearly 2.5 years later, he was admitted to the hospital for unstable angina. ⋯ During hospitalization, the patient received an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD). This is the first reported case of simultaneous use of a UAS and an ICD, and we report no untoward device interference between the two implantable devices.

Review Meta Analysis
The efficacy of gabapentin/pregabalin in improving pain after tonsillectomy: A meta-analysis.
Gabapentin and pregabalin are useful for treating neuropathic pain because of their antiallodynic and antihyperalgesic properties, which may be beneficial in managing acute postoperative pain. The goal of this meta-analysis was to perform a systematic review of the literature on the effect of gabapentinoids on postoperative pain following tonsillectomy, and its adverse effects in patients. ⋯ NA.

Comparative Study
Retrosigmoid versus translabyrinthine approach to acoustic neuroma resection: A comparative cost-effectiveness analysis.
Approach-specific economic data of acoustic neuroma (AN) resection is lacking. The purpose of this study was to analyze and compare adjusted total hospital costs, hospital and intensive care unit (ICU) length of stay (LOS), and associated factors in AN patients undergoing resection by translabyrinthine (TL) approach versus retrosigmoid (RS) approach. ⋯ 2c.
